The National Association of Home Builders report that the housing affordability jumped over 10 percentage points during the first quarter of 2009 to its highest level in 18 years. 

The biggest factor to the increase in affordability are lower home prices and record low interest rates in the last few months.  With the Feds kicking in $8,000 for a federal tax credit, for the first time home buyers are returning to the market place.  The buyers have a great choice of homes to pick, the sellers are being realistic with their selling prices and they are motivated to make a deal.  It is the best time to buy a home!
